A proposal for the interior renovation of a 2,000-square-foot apartment located at the south end of Central Park.
The client’s collection of 1930s French antiques bestows the living room with an early-modern aesthetic and air of nostalgia that resonates with that of the building. Amply illuminated by natural light coming through full height windows to the north and west, the battleship-gray walls allow the bold character of the furnishings to recede to the periphery as one lifts their gaze to a sweeping perspective of Central Park. The classic Fornasetti screen ‘Reflecting City’ unfolds into a fifth window behind the dining table allowing a glimpse of Venice within the New York city-scape.
